Steel set to wing it with Crampton as top six eyed

Southern Steel have ruled out bringing in an experienced midcourter to plug the hole left by Courtney Tairi, who will miss the rest of the trans-Tasman netball season through injury.
Dunedin-based New Zealand under-21 midcourter Gina Crampton has been a part of Steel's game-day 12 during the past two weeks and co-coach Natalie Avellino said they would be sticking with what they had during the final five games of the season.

When you’ve been playing elite sport as long as I have, you get to know pretty clearly what makes you tick. The sport scientists call it your Ideal Performance State. For this blonde Aussie, the single most impacting factor to my personal success is to have fun. Having fun on and off the court fuels my passion, quickens my feet and opens my soul. Playing well is fun, losing is definitely not fun and for the last few weeks, waking up Monday has not been fun.
